THE WHITAKER'S
Jake, Jane, Maxton (7) and Macey (2) Whitaker are all passionate about riding bikes! They are a family that live and breath all things with wheels!
Jake is an accomplished rider and has competed at the top level in New Zealand and internationally in both trials and extreme enduro riding. Below are a few of Jakes notable accomplishments:
- 8x NZ moto trials champion (record for most ever moto trails championships won, record for most consecutive national championships won, youngest to win a national championship in the expert grade at 16 yrs old)- 3x Australian moto trials champion
- 2x Guiness World Record Holder – fastest over 21 oil drums on a trials bike
- 3x New Zealand extreme enduro champion
Jake continues to race competitively for the KTM Off Road Race Team in New Zealand in enduro, cross country and extreme enduro disciplines.
Jake and Jane have a stunt show - Jake Whitaker Stunt Show (sposnored by Gas Gas New Zealand) which they showcase at special events around the coutry.
Jane races competitively when possible (working around juggling kids) and is heavily involved in the dirt biking commmunity. She is the current chairwoman of Queens Of Dirt and is often seen track side (with kids in tow) photographing events.
Maxton is absolutely loving riding his Yamaha TTR110 and has just started expressing more of an interest in wanting to race his bike.
Macey is still a little small to ride a motorbike yet however, is probably the most bike mad! She is absolutely obsessed with bikes , 'works' on her bike, demands constant rides on the front of Jake and Jane's bikes and loves being at racing. She says she will be "racing soon".
JW Seat Covers was born
While Jane birthed both the kids, Jake birthed (with a bit of help from Jane) JW Seat Covers in 2019.
Jake was after a seat cover that really stood the test of the extreme elements he was riding in, so designed one with his local upholsterer! There was so much interest in Jakes original product that he decided to test, test again and develop a high quality product that others in the industry could benefit from.
What started out in the Whitaker's garage as something for personal use has now grown into a small family business. Our products have been put to the test in the toughest of conditions and we are so impressed with the durability and the quality of the product we have managed to produce, we want to offer it to you all.
